The favor of God is something that is mentioned many times in the Bible. As a follower of Jesus Christ, every Christian has the favor of God. It can be defined as a divine empowerment to carry out God's will on earth. If God wills a believer to do something, it only makes sense that he gives us the power to do so.
Access to the Favor of God
As believers (followers of Jesus) we have been supernaturally seated in the heavenly realms with him ( Ephesians 2: 4-6). Because of this, we have been given access to ALL of the power that we need: " I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe in him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms" - Ephesians 1: 21-22. So there is NOTHING that can hold us back!
Special Favor
In addition to the favor of God there is also the special favor of God. This is when God gives the believer divine empowerment to accomplish specific tasks or assignments. The special favor that a Christian has, always pertains to that Christian's individual calling. Certain Christians may be favored in a certain area that other Christians are not. This happens because God has a special purpose for every single individual in the body of Christ. I am going to give two scriptures that highlights this concept perfectly.
The first is the Prophet Jeremiah. Pay close attention to what God says here:
"The word of the LORD came to me, saying Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart ; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." - Jeremiah 1: 4-5
we see in this scripture that God set Jeremiah apart for the calling to be a prophet to the nations. Some translations will say "I consecrated you" It is the same thing. When God sets you apart, it means he has selected you for a specific purpose.
The second is with Paul. We find the same thing happening with brother Paul in his letter to the church in Galatia:
"But when he (God) who had set me apart from my mother's womb and called me by his grace was pleased to reveal his Son to me in order that I would preach him among the Gentiles (non Jews) I did not immediately consult with anyone."
- Galations 1: 15-16
We see here that God also set brother Paul apart for the mission of preaching the Gospel to the Gentiles. So what does this mean for you and me? There is a ministry or mission with your name on it! This is something that God has specifically designed YOU for. No one else has this assignment but YOU! He has set each and every one of us apart for something great that he wants us to do while we're still here. The special favor of God is over all of his children to carry our individual mission out. We have all of the power that we need to accomplish it.
Your Special Mission
In order to know the special favor that God has given you for your assignment, you must first know your assignment. Begin to ask: what has God set me apart for? Or what is my mission or purpose here in this world? Read the word of God and pay close attention to what brings excitement to your spirit when you read. Find out what gifts you have been given or what you seem to be naturally good at.
Pray while your doing this, by asking God to make you aware of these things. Something else that I figured out was that in searching for your mission, God will point you to a person in the Bible who shares a similar gift or set of gifts that you have! There are thousands upon thousands of people in the scriptures that God can point you to.
As you walk with God or abide in him he WILL reveal more and more to you! He has given his Son Jesus Christ all authority in heaven and on earth ( Mathew 28: 18-20). Therefore we are to live life with Jesus as our commander and cheif. When God formed you in the womb, he placed what HE desired within you. He knows everything about you and he knows what will truly bring joy to your soul.
There are many in this world that are walking in a mission or assignment that God did not give them. This can only end in despair and many think that their lives are not worth anything because they are not doing what God has created them to do. I pray that those who are lead to read this are encouraged to find their mission if they havn't or if you already have, praise God! Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments.
I think you were set apart in the womb to blog 🔥
