Emotions are embedded within every human being. We are designed to have them. However, we must never be ruled by them. With the constant trials and difficulties that we face in life, having a calm mind can be very challenging. By no means have I perfected this, but I believe that I've discovered several powerful benefits that a calm mind can give us in the midst of this chaotic world that we live in.
1. You think more clearly
This one is obvious, if our minds are clouded with so many things at one time, it often desstroys your ability to think logically. Honestley, even if we worry about one particular thing, the results can be the same: a clouded mind full of things that we have no control over.
2. Your more approachable
If I took a poll on which kind of person that people would be more willing to walk up and talk to, I assume someone whos calm and has their emotions in check would get more votes than someone who is costantley angry. The calm mind doesn't go unnoticed.
3. You are better able to interact
This is connected with being more approachable. The difference here is your actually conversing with people to build relationships and hopefully make friends. Even if your making enemies. Being calm will lead to much better results than being emotional.
4. Your able to learn better
The calm mind can take in and process more information. Your emotions don't get in the way to block this from happening, so the process of retaining what you hear is a whole lot smoother.
5. You can better control your behavior
Doing irrational things tends to happen when our emotions aren't in check. Since every action starts with a thought, Being calm allows us to think more clearly in order to keep our actions under control.
6. You can better focus on your tasks
Concentration is essential, especially when your doing something important. Having a calm mind helps to tackle assignments with better focus. If the mind is scattered, there's no doubt that doing your daily duties will be much more difficult.
7. You can better resolve problems
Problem solving is much easier when your mind isn't overwhelmed. There are many times where our first reaction is to panic. Thinking of solutions will come more naturally if we remain calm.
